Workshop Description
Thank you for choosing an activity that your child is interested in! This is where you register for SINGING and SONGWRITING. Your daughter will be in a group with a maximum of 12 participants, from grades 1 to 8. They will be led by professional artist Geneviève Cholette, along with our workshop facilitator and coordinator, Carolina Rojas. Together, they will spend the sessions writing and composing songs, learning and rehearsing them, and performing them as part of our Laini Musical! Their songs will be directly connected to the other three groups focusing on Writing, Dancing, and Costume Making. This is a great opportunity to offer your child an enriching experience that develops a set of skills enhancing their musical abilities, creativity, and personal growth. This includes: • Crafting original lyrics and melodies • Collaboration through co-writing sessions and singing together as one • Vocal techniques and interpretation • Managing performance anxiety while developing self-confidence • Working on stage presence and rehearsal discipline Please register below to confirm your daughter's participation in this programme. PROGRAMME KEY DATES: Sept 18 to Nov 27 on Wednesdays – 4:30 pm to 6 pm Rehearsal #1 for all groups: Wednesday, November 27, from 4:30 pm to 6 pm Rehearsal #2 for all groups: Thursday, November 28, from 4:30 pm to 6 pm Show for parents: Thursday, November 28, at 6 pm GENEVIÈVE CHOLETTE: Geneviève Cholette is a professional musical theatre performer, director, choreographer, and lyricist known for her performing career as well as for the workshops she has given to thousands of young artists across Ontario. As a founding member, lyricist, and choreographer of the award-winning comedic vocal trio Les Chiclettes (LesChiclettes.com), she performed in more than 450 shows in Canada and France.
